Pickling

Pickling baths are commonly used to descale or clean steel in various steelmaking processes. Baths like this are found throughout the metal industry. Pickling is a metal surface treatment that removes impurities from ferrous metals. Pickling liquor, such as HCl, can be used to remove surface impurities. Crucial in this industry is the quality of the chemicals used. Mixing, blending, and dosing the acids can be checked using in-line analysers. Rhosonics offers very accurate and reliable real-time ultrasonic analysers. These analysers measure not only sound velocity, but also conductivity and temperature. Our Model 9580 would be perfectly suited for this application, as it can measure the acid concentration, as well as the dissolved metals.

For HCl concentrations up to 90 g/l, the new Concentration Meter B31 can also be used. If you are interested, then please don't hesitate to contact Rhosonics or your local distributor.
