9100 Series - beer & wort analysers

In modern beer brewing, much of the original craftsmanship has been replaced by automated installations. The Rhosonics 9100 series is used to monitor product quality, performing many tasks that previously had to be done by a human. The 9100 models make use of ultrasonic technology, whereby the sound velocity is measured in a range of of applications. Thanks to its innovative electronics and sensor design, continuous in-line monitoring of wort or beer fluids is possible with a high degree of accuracy: the sensor sends and receives ultrasonic waves. The analyser calculates how long it took for a signal to return and uses this to determine concentration. As the device has no moving or degrading part, virtually no maintenance is required.

9110 Model Wort Plato Analyser

Wort Plato analyser for brewing industries

Model 9110 series is an ultrasonic Wort °Plato (0 ~ 25 °P) analyser. This model has one ultrasonic sensor with an integrated temperature sensor to measure concentrations. By measuring how long it takes for an ultrasonic signal to return to the sensor, the analyser can calculate the concentration of a liquid. This model is used in four applications:

  1. Wort clearing (for example, outlet lauter tun), with limited risks of fouling.
  2. Boiling wort with an external boiler system.
  3. Cold wort with limited risks of fouling.
  4. Fermentation process with special sample system and integral recirculation system.

9115 Model – Wort Plato Analyser

Wort Plato for High Suspended Solids and Boiling Wort

The model 9115 series consists of a dual channel ultrasonic Wort °Plato (0 ~ 25 °P) analyser for applications with a high risk of fouling. This model has two ultrasonic sensor with an integrated temperature sensor to measure the concentration of a solution. Unlike model 9110, this model has two sensors: a transmitter and a receiver, which are installed facing each other. As one sensor transmits ultrasonic waves, the other picks up the signal and enables accurate measurement of the velocity at which sound travels through the solution. This model is used in two applications or typical processes:

  1. Wort saccharification before brewing (due to very high TSS).
  2. Boiling wort with an external boiler system, when high coagulation is expected.

9120 Model – Original Gravity Monitoring

Inline measurement of Original Gravity

The model 9120 series is a single channel ultrasonic beer analyser. This model is used to check the process after fermentation. The analyser uses one ultrasonic sensor with an integrated temperature sensor to measure the concentration. Measuring the speed at which the ultrasonic signal travels through the liquid enables calculation of the concentration. Model 9120 uses a reflector to return the signal to the sensor. This model can be used in four applications or typical processes:

  1. Pre- and post-run separation
  2. Blending control of beer with DAW
  3. Final QC before filling
  4. Brand separation
