Rhosonics developed a new non-nuclear density meter, the SDM Slurry Density Meter. This new generation instrument is specially developed for the mining and dredging industries and will be officially introduced at the end of this month.

Rhosonics is known as the specialist in the development of ultrasonic analysis instruments which are used in virtually any industry. When it comes to the mining and dredging industry, in general, companies do not know about ultrasonic density measurement. For a long time, radiation sourced (nuclear) density meters were the only option for mineral processing or dredging companies. Despite the fact that ultrasonic density measurement technology is quite new to the industry, the previous model 9690 density meter of Rhosonics has already proven its success at many mineral processing plants worldwide (e.g. copper, gold and iron mines) since 2009.

Mining and mineral processing companies use density meters to measure the density of their processed mineral slurry. The non-nuclear instrument of Rhosonics continuously measures the density in-line and herewith provides real-time information about the effectivity of the process. The instrument could for example be mounted at the underflow of a thickener tank or at the feedline of a cyclone.

While governmental regulations concerning radiation sourced devices are getting stricter, Rhosonics has seen a growing potential of mining and mineral processing companies who are searching for this new alternative. Please contact us for more information about the SDM Slurry Density Meter.
